Professional liability insurance pertains to claims of injuries or death that arise from one’s professional services as a healthcare provider. 

Many institutions or employers will provide professional liability insurance for their employees, however, this policy does not provide coverage for "outside" healthcare delivery (i.e. per diem). Many athletic trainers hold individual professional liability insurance. Examples of companies that provide professional liability insurance are provided here.
